Using AI beyond content generation
Recent surveys by ASAE and others suggest nearly 90% of associations are using AI for some type of content generation (e.g., creating blog posts, newsletter articles, "canned" responses to inquiries, etc.). That is great, but when it comes to data management, there are so many more opportunities for leveraging AI.
Here are some ideas from a few of my clients on how AI can be leveraged to create greater efficiencies.
- Create an online directory of member firms providing services. AI can be used to create the website and consume the data provided by the association to populate the directory.
- Scan AMS data (outside the system) to identify potential duplicates and/or bad data. Analyze the data on a spreadsheet to identify the data issues. "Advanced" AI work could even merge the records for re-import into the AMS and/or correct bad data.
- Many of my clients have to pull multiple reports and then merge them into a single report, either because of limitations in the AMS or because the data is in multiple systems. A well-designed AI prompt could do the merging of the reports that is currently done manually.
These are just three ideas. There are countless others.
As my good friend Noel Shatananda put it, ask yourself "If I had a really smart intern at my disposal, what would I have her do for me?" That will really get you thinking about how AI can help.
If you're using AI to help with data management, hit "reply" on this note and tell me how. I'd love to hear more real-world examples!
