DAN - The Data Analytics Network
I'm a huge fan of users groups (both internal and external!). After all, users groups are just associations by another name, and having spent my entire career in the association space, I know their value.
There is a great, informal group called the Data Analytics Network (DAN) for professional and trade associations. They meet once a month online to discuss different topics around data analytics. And this year, for the second year, they are hosting an in-person event they call the "Data Science Fair."
I attended last year's fair and was really impressed with what I saw. Presenters create old-school poster boards highlighting a data or analytics project and share their approach and outcomes with the group. It's a great way to see and learn how actual associations are using actual data analytics in the real world. Click here to register to attend.
For me, the best way to learn is to learn from my peers. And that's what the DAN is all about. Click here more information on all of their webinars. For more info on the group, visit their LinkedIn page. Or you can contact Christin Berry at cberry@asaecenter.org.
