Blog post themes over 20 years...

I've been writing blog posts for nearly 20 years now. WordPress tells me I've written over 1,200 posts. So I asked AI to analyze my 1,200+ posts and give me my top three themes. Here's what it came up with:

  1. Data management and data quality - these posts emphasize that data management is ongoing work, that perfection is impossible, and that good data is central to serving the association well.
  2. Process, governance, and staff behavior - these posts focus on database management as a process, not an event, emphasize documented procedures, and explore how staff choices and culture affect data and system success.
  3. AMS and technology selection, use, and expectations - these posts emphasize fit over features, long-term costs versus short-term savings, and user adoption as essential for long-term success.

If I were to sum these up, it would be (not surprisingly) people, process, technology, and quality data. To have the highest quality data, you have to have the right people doing the right things in the right technology.

So "simple," and yet so challenging.
