Background
An international travel organization with over 120,000 members had a legacy system that was very poorly matched to the intense data management needs of the association. As a result, processing and fulfilling membership cards (a key member benefit) could take up to six weeks from receipt of the membership application.
Solution
Working closely with association staff, EDM helped to identify the organization’s data management needs and business processes. A thorough evaluation of current association management software systems led them to select and implement a fully web-based system, which allowed new members to join online, and moved staff resources from entering data to fulfilling new orders.
Result
With a new web-based system, the vast majority of data entry moved from staff to the member. As a result, some staff overhead was reduced and membership processing fulfillment that had previously taken up to 6 weeks is now fulfilled in less than 48 hours.
